As of August 1, 2020, both the City of Edmonton and City of Calgary are requiring residents and visitors to wear a masks or face covering in public indoor facilities and public vehicles. One of the exceptions in both cities is people exercising or engaging in athletic activities.

What that means for tennis players accessing indoor tennis facilities is that in most cases you will be required to wear a face covering in common spaces, such as the main lobby and check in, but while playing tennis you do not need to wear a mask.  Check with your local club/facility about the specifics of their policy.

If you live outside of Edmonton or Calgary, check with your local municipality on their face covering regulations. Regardless of local recommendations, Tennis Alberta is encouraging all of our members to wear a face covering while in public indoor facilities and while taking public vehicles.

Together we can continue to stop the spread and help keep everyone safe.
