Update on Mia Kupres’ first tournament in Mexico

Mia Kupres and team mate Annabelle Xu led the Canadian team in their first ITF Junior tournament in Mexico, the Queretaro Junior Cup, Level 4,  making it to the semi-finals.  Mia narrowly lost in two tie-breakers, 7-6 (1), and 7-6 (6) to Camila Soares of Peru in the semi-final match.  In the quarterfinals, Mia defeated her team mate Danielle Tuhten.  The tournament took place Feb. 5-9 in Queretaro, Mexico. Read more about Mia’s journey to mexico here.

Another update on Mia at the Jalisco tournament—she is moving on to the quarterfinals along with teammates Annabelle Xu and Jessica Alsola.

Mia moves on now to Guadalajara and the Jalisco Junior Cup, where she is one of eight Canadians in the main draw, including Karin Hamilton of Alberta.
