The Dunlop Grand Prix

Tennis Alberta is thrilled to partner with Dunlop, making the Dunlop Grand Prix the official ball for all sanctioned events.
The agreement, formalized in November 2025, means a deepening partnership between Dunlop and Tennis Alberta. This expanded relationship will only further enhance the experience of our members and players throughout the greater Alberta community.
The first Dunlop Grand Prix was manufactured over 100 years ago, making its debut in 1924. Today, Dunlop is the only ball maker in the world that owns its production facilities, allowing for complete manufacturing oversight. This results in a ball with unrivaled quality control, giving you a consistent, reliable bounce.
Trusted excellence
The Grand Prix is consistently chosen by professional tours and collegiate programs worldwide. The ball is:
- the most used ball on the WTA Tour
- used at marquee North American events, including the WTA 1000 Miami Open, WTA500 Charleston Open, and WTA500 San Diego
- one of the most used balls on the ITF pro circuit, Challenger Tour, RSPA, and UTR Pro Tour
- regularly used for the Billie Jean Cup
- the official ball of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) women’s division
- used by all schools competing in the NCAA
Technology
For a ball that fits in your pocket, the amount of technology is remarkable. The Grand Prix is engineered for ultimate consistency, featuring Dunlop’s premium woven fabric, a high-specification core, and premium adhesives and finishings.
This specialized design makes the ball highly adaptable, allowing it to perform consistently everywhere from cool bubbles in an Edmonton freeze, to blazing hot days under a Calgary summer sun.
