Tennis Alberta announces that Lexus of Edmonton is the title sponsor for the 110th Alberta Open held Aug 3-7, 2023, in Edmonton, Alberta. The tournament is now the Lexus of Edmonton 110th Alberta Open.

Year after year, they have continued their support of Tennis Alberta and commitment to the growth of tennis,” says Alan Mackin, Executive Director. “As we strive to build more opportunities for Albertans to enjoy tennis, we need champions like Lexus of Edmonton.”

In addition to supporting the Alberta Open, Lexus of Edmonton is sponsoring the following adult and masters tournaments: 

  • May 26-28: Adult 3.0/4.0 – Grand Trunk Park, Edmonton  
  • June 16-18: Adult 3.0/5.0 – Grand Trunk Park, Edmonton 
  • July 7-9: Masters Outdoor Provincials – Capilano Tennis Club, Edmonton

Lexus of Edmonton’s investment allows Tennis Alberta to expand the tournament calendar to support the underserved adult athlete seeking opportunities to play. The Alberta Open will see an enhanced player experience and a try tennis event for children geared at encouraging the next generation to try the sport.

In 2022, the Alberta Open hosted 174 entries in 40 events bringing together players of all levels from across Western Canada. Boasting a history that spans over a century, the first-ever Alberta Open was held in 1906. It continues to feature Men’s and Women’s tennis singles and doubles in 3.0/4.0/5.0/Open and Masters 45+, 55+, 65+, 75+ categories.
