Tennis Alberta held its 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Wednesday, June 25. The meeting took place virtually over Microsoft Teams and welcomed 35 attendees, including 13 voting facility member representatives, along with members of the Board of Directors, staff team, and guests.

During the AGM, voting members approved the 2024 Audited Financial Statements, as presented by the Vice President of Finance and our Auditors. The meeting also featured a presentation from Steve Indig of Sport Law, who supported Tennis Alberta in reviewing and updating our bylaws. Following the presentation, the voting membership approved the revised bylaws.

Reports were also delivered by Tennis Alberta’s President, Vice President of Finance, and Executive Director. You can view the Executive Director report slideshow here.

The AGM included an election for the Board of Directors, resulting in the re-election of Barbara Rypien and Patrick Thomas. Both were strong contributors in their past term on our board, so we are thrilled to welcome Barb and Patrick back and look forward to their ongoing contribution to our organization’s governance.

Immediately following the AGM, the Board convened to confirm its Executive roles for the upcoming term. The 2025-26 Executive Committee is as follows:

  • Michael Bennett, President
  • Patrick Thomas, Vice President
  • Mark Hamill, Vice President of Finance
  • Chris Zelyas, Secretary

We thank all attendees for their engagement and contribution to the governance of Tennis Alberta. The continued support of our facility leaders and community representatives is vital to the growth and strength of tennis across our province.
