Tennis Month wrapped up in June, marking the end of our month-long celebration of tennis across the country. This year’s Tennis Month was bigger and better than ever, with the goal of inspiring participation and breaking down barriers through a wide range of events in communities across the province. In collaboration with Tennis Canada, Tennis Alberta proudly delivered a variety of activations, including Rogers First Set Try Tennis events, National Bank Family Tennis Days, Tennis Alberta Roadshows, and the large-scale TENNISfest.
Rogers First Set Try Tennis Event
In partnership with the Calgary Tennis Society, Tennis Alberta proudly participated in a Rogers First Set Try Tennis event at Mega Courts Pickleball and Tennis on June 8th. Over 35 children came out to pick up a racquet, many for the very first time, making it a fantastic day of fun, learning, and inclusion. The event provided a supportive environment where kids of all abilities could discover the joy of tennis!

Thank you to the coaches, volunteers, and staff from CTS and Mega Courts for making this event possible. Your commitment to creating a safe, welcoming, and inclusive space allowed every participant to have a positive and memorable experience on court!
National Bank Family Tennis Days
With the support of National Bank and Tennis Canada, Tennis Alberta hosted the first ever National Bank Family Tennis Days at Red Deer Tennis Club this month! It was a great day with four parent-child teams competing in doubles matches. This fun, low-pressure event is all about families playing together, building teamwork, and creating meaningful memories.

A big thank you to the Red Deer Tennis Club staff and volunteers who made this event possible. Tennis Alberta has four National Bank Family Days coming up in July, and registration is now open! Upcoming events include:
- Greenfield Tennis Club on July 19th
- Osten & Victor Alberta Tennis Centre on July 20th
- Garneau Tennis & Beach Volleyball Club on July 25th
- Saville Tennis Centre on July 27th
Thank you to National Bank for supporting these events, and we look forward to seeing you and your family on the courts!
Tennis Alberta Roadshows
Our Tennis Alberta Roadshow has hit the road and made stops at Red Deer Tennis Club and St. Albert Tennis Club this month! Each event has featured unique activities, including racquet demos provided by Dunlop, Try Tennis opportunities, barbeques, live music, and of course, our signature Smash Tent!
A heartfelt thank you to all the clubs, members, and volunteers who made these events a success. Your enthusiasm and support continue to promote physical activity, mental wellness, and social connection for all ages and skill levels.
In July, we’re making our way across central and southern Alberta, making stops at Canmore Tennis Club (July 16), Medicine Hat Tennis Club (July 17), and Garneau Tennis & Beach Volleyball Club (July 27). We hope to see you there!

TENNISfest
TENNISfest 2025 took place on June 28th at the Edmonton ExpoCentre, bringing together over 600 participants for a free, large-scale Try Tennis event. Thanks to the hard work and dedication of the Edmonton Tennis Community, this exciting event provided a welcoming, beginner-friendly environment where people of all ages could get active, have fun, and experience the joy of tennis.
Local clubs, coaches, volunteers, and Tennis Alberta were all on site to celebrate Tennis Month and the official kick-off to the outdoor tennis season. As one of the most unique tennis events in the province (and the country), TENNISfest continues to unite the community through tennis, creating a fun and inclusive atmosphere for all.
