Alberta’s U18 Juniors, get ready to play at the Yonex Calgary U18 Junior tournament this May 27 – May 31, 2019.

Hosted at the OSTEN & VICTOR Alberta Tennis Centre, this tournament is one of two ITF Junior World Tennis Tour tournaments hosted in Alberta.  Junior athletes from around the world arrive in Calgary to play elite-level tennis. Last year, Alberta’s players had the chance to play athletes from more than 10 countries while racking up ITF points.

“This tournament is a significant opportunity for players in our province to step up to a higher level of play. In the three years Alberta Tennis Centre has been hosting this tournament we have seen athletes, like Ashley Jacobs and Cleeve Harper, excel against the world’s top juniors, “ says Danny DaCosta, CEO OSTEN & VICTOR Alberta Tennis Centre.

ITF rankings allow players to vie for scholarships around the world, specifically to universities in the United States. Along with the opportunity to play university tennis, ITF World Junior Tour tournaments are the first stepping stone in the journey to turn pro on the ATP/WTA Tours.

The events includes Boys and Girls Singles and Doubles. Players can register at itftennis.com/juniors.

The Saville ITF Grade 5 is July 1 – 7 at the UofA Outdoor Centre.
