June 22nd marked the first day of our annual Hackers tournament. Mother Nature brought her ‘A’ game and gifted us with absolutely amazing weather all weekend long, allowing us to get all matches on and off the courts in great time! We would like to extend huge congratulations to all those who played in this event. The caliber of play was high and the matches were so exciting to watch as a spectator.

Honorable mentions to the winners of each category go out to Ethan Wollmann MS 4.0,  Joanne Vetsch WS 4.0, Vic Bella & Loorthuraja Rasu MD 4.0, Natasha Barrett & Ashley Burke WD 4.0, Bradley Townsend & Ashley Burke XD 4.0, Damian Parmar MS 3.0, and Krish Koduri & Rod Sedrovic MD 3.0 who left everything they had on the courts and came out at the top of the pack!

To all of our volunteers, we (as always) want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts. There is no way we could run tournaments of this size without your generously donated time and energy. It is truly wonderful to see your dedication and love for Garneau! Also, as always we would like to send a shout out to our phenomenal tennis pros Matt Ormandy and Tobiasz Strozyk who spent tireless hours organizing and delivering this awesome event, and who did it with unbelievably positive, upbeat attitudes. Make sure to give these guys a great big ‘thank you’ the next time you see them!
