We’ve implemented several updates to the Junior Competitive Structure to align with national standards and to create a clearer, more consistent player pathway. These changes take effect immediately.
Summary of Updates
- Parent Safe Sport Requirement: All parents or guardians of U12 and Rising Stars players must complete Safe Sport education before their child’s participation (announced January 30, 2025).
- Nationals Selection Process: Updated to include a new “clean” points table used for the Points Race across all age and gender divisions. The structure mirrors the Tennis Canada National Ranking Points System, with a base value of 1,000 points awarded to Provincial Champions.
- Pathway Reorganization: Reorganized to group 3.5-Star, 3-Star, and 2-Star events under the Provincial Pathway, and Rising Stars and Rookie events under the Rogers First Set Tour Pathway.
- Streamlined Content: Redundant information between event types removed for easier navigation.
- Rogers First Set – Rookie Tour Events: Updated to reflect current practices and guidance from the Junior Development Committee (JDC).
- Updated Age Eligibility: Birth years throughout the document have been updated to account for Fall 2025 and 2026.
The new document and other related resources (Junior Provincials Eligibility, Nationals Selection Policy, etc.) can all be found on our Junior Competitive Structure page.
