Daniel Skepple, President of Tennis Alberta, is proud to announce that former Olympic athlete Peter Ogilvie will be stepping in the role of Interim Executive Director for Tennis Alberta effective April 3, 2018.Peter Ogilvie has been recognized for his unique talent for connecting sport and business to ensure that the right people come together to guarantee success and is excited to be working to help develop and promote the sport of tennis across Alberta.

As a member of the City of Edmonton Sports Hall of Fame Peter brings a strong and experienced sports management background to Tennis Alberta.

“Peter is a dedicated and proven sport leader who thrives at finding solutions to develop, promote and empower sport programming”, says Skepple. “We are looking forward to seeing him lead Tennis Alberta with his creativity and passion as we prepare for the another exciting year of tennis across Alberta.”

As a visionary leader Peter Ogilvie served as Executive Director of Athletics Alberta from 2005 to 2014. He was CEO of TrackTown Canada, the organizing committee that managed the Edmonton 2015 Pan American Junior Athletics Championships which came to western North America for the first time that year. He was instrumental in organizing the first-ever amalgamated Canadian Track and Field Championships, which combines junior, senior, and para-athletes into one major event. Peter led the local organizing committee to produce the 2016 Rio Olympic and Paralympic selection trials held in Edmonton, which was honoured as the  2016 CSTA Canadian Sport Event of the Year Award.
