Save the Date: Historic tournament returns to Red Deer July 30 to August 03.

The Alberta Open, one of Canada’s longest-running tennis tournaments, returns to Red Deer for the first time since 2007. Now in its 113th edition, the tournament invites players to enjoy an elevated experience and the top-notch tennis they’ve come to expect.

We’d like to thank the Saville Tennis Centre for hosting the event over the last 7 years. Because of this incredible partnership and the support from their team, the tournament was a consistent success. We’re looking forward to returning to Edmonton for future events.

The Red Deer Tennis Club

The Red Deer Tennis Club boasts eight outdoor hard courts equipped with lights and four indoor hard courts. Players and spectators will have access to the clubhouse and a viewing deck, providing great sightlines for matches. And as the expression goes, there’s so much room for activities: With large grounds, there’s plenty of space for everyone to hang around and enjoy the tournament atmosphere.

The Player Experience

We’re focused on elevating the event again this year, whether you’re chasing a title or just want to enjoy a great weekend of tennis.

Last year, we introduced a beer garden, off-site social gathering, and a one point tournament (now made popular by the Australian Open). Additionally, as with many prior events, we held raffle prizes, provided player gifts, and brought in food trucks. We’re working to bring back many of these features, and we’ll continue to find new ways to improve the tournament experience this year.

Stay Tuned

Stay tuned for more details in the weeks and months ahead. Mark your calendars for July 30 to August 03. We’ll see you in Red Deer.
