Tennis Alberta announces a partnership with The Cahill Group of Companies, a leading, Canadian construction firm, as title sponsor for the 109th Alberta Open held July 28 – Aug 1, 2022 in Edmonton, Alberta. The tournament is now the Cahill 109th Alberta Open presented by Lexus of Edmonton.
“Cahill’s focus on building strong communities was a natural fit for Tennis Alberta, as we strive to connect community through the sport of tennis,” says Alan Mackin, Executive Director. “We are proud to partner with Cahill to continue to build the Alberta Open, supporting the growth of tennis in our province.”
Cahill’s investment in the tournament allows Tennis Alberta to enhance the player experience for participants. The tournament will include a large-scale player BBQ which shall add to the social atmosphere allowing players to connect with each other and members of the community.

“In 2021, the tournament saw a record number of players register in Men’s, Women’s and Doubles categories. We aim to surpass last year’s record with players traveling from all across Alberta and beyond to compete,” says Mackin.
Boasting a history that spans over a century, the inaugural edition of the Alberta Open was held in 1906. It continues to feature Men’s and Women’s tennis singles and doubles in 3.0/4.0/5.0/Open and Seniors 45+, 55+, 65+, 75+ categories. The Cahill 109th Alberta Open presented by Lexus of Edmonton takes place this July 28 – Aug 1 at the U of A Outdoor Tennis Centre at Michener Park and Saville Community Sports Centre.
