Three-man team end decade-long gold drought
Last month, Canadian teams competed internationally in ITF team events. The decade-long gold drought in the team events was brought to an end by a trio of M75 competitors who took to the courts in Antalya, Turkey. The three-man team—hand-selected by Tennis Canada—was Tim Griffin, Chris Burr, and Alberta’s own Joe Forrayi.
The team emerged from the group stage (Group D) after defeating teams from Germany, France, and Turkey. The squad then went on to eliminate the United States in the semis (2-1) and then cruised through the Italian team (3-0) in the final. Click here for complete tournament results
Congratulations to all who represented Canada and Alberta internationally!
