Back-to-back Challenger events thrill and unite Alberta’s tennis community

The Edmonton and Calgary National Bank Challenger tournaments served up thrilling tennis action this October, drawing top athletes from around the globe to Alberta. Hosted by the Royal Glenora Club in Edmonton from October 6-13, and then at the Osten & Victor Alberta Tennis Centre in Calgary from October 13-20, these back-to-back tournaments showcased the incredible talent and competitive spirit of the ITF Men’s and Women’s World Tennis Tour. Each week, thousands of fans packed the stands, enjoying the battles for rankings, prestige, and prize money.

Thanks to the experience and diligence of the teams involved, the events ran without a hitch. Tennis Canada officials were on hand at both tournaments, upholding high standards of professionalism on the court. Hundreds of volunteers—ball crews, drivers, ushers, and more—were vital in making these tournaments a success. We extend our gratitude to Ryan Schroffel and his team at the Royal Glenora Club for their hard work in Edmonton, as well as to Danny Da Costa and the Osten & Victor Alberta Tennis Centre team for their leadership in Calgary. A job well done by everyone involved!
