Team Canada 2023 Davis Cup

Following Team Canada’s historic Davis Cup title win in November of 2022, Tennis Alberta announces the Davis Cup Trophy is visiting Alberta in April 2023.

Tennis followers and members of the tennis community are invited to view a unique piece of the sport’s history as the famous trophy embarks on a national tour to celebrate Canada’s Davis Cup title win.  Team Canada — Frank Dancevic, Denis Shapovalov, Felix Auger- Aliassime, Vasek Pospisil, Alexis Galarneau, and Gabriel Diallo –, defeated Australia in the final and won the team title for the first time in the Davis Cup’s 123-year history. The trophy’s cross-country tour starts in BC and progressively works its way east across Canada.

Standing at 110cm tall and weighing 105 kilos, the Davis Cup is one of the most recognizable trophies in the sporting world. Spectators will be able to view the trophy for FREE, take your picture with it, and check out all the past winners named on the trophy.

The Davis Cup trophy will be on display in Alberta at the following times:

CALGARY
Monday, April 24 | 2-8 pm
Host Venue: Aforza Tennis Club

EDMONTON
Wednesday, April 26 | 2-6 pm
Host Venue: Saville Community Sports Centre

The tour showcases programs encouraging tennis players of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to pick up a racquet for the very first time. Programs focused on the growth of community, including try tennis events and programs focused on making tennis more accessible to children from underserved communities.
