In preparation for the 2022-23 indoor sanctioned tournament schedule, Tennis Alberta releases its Code of Conduct and 2023 Junior Competitive Structure. Players, parents/guardians, and coaches are asked read and familiarize themselves with these documents.  

CODE OF CONDUCT 

The Tennis Alberta Code of Conduct pertains to all Tennis Alberta sanctioned tournaments, as well as to players who represent Alberta at higher-level events within and outside the province. It is a valid reference for all games of tennis whether played competitively or recreationally.

This publication includes sections on Definitions, the Code of Conduct, Suspension Points, Disciplinary Procedures as well as a Summary of General Tournament Regulations

Every player (junior and adult) is responsible for knowing and understanding its contents.


JUNIOR COMPETITIVE STRUCTURE 

The updated Junior Competitive Structure will govern all junior events through 2023. Notable updates to the structure include: 

  • 4 Star tournaments: qualifying draws will increase from 8 to 16 players
  • National Selection Process: players must participate in the Provincial Championships as well as one 4 Star event for the age group in which they wish to represent Alberta.


JUNIOR NATIONALS SELECTIONS PROCESS

Below is a quick reference for the process of selecting athletes to represent Alberta at the Fischer Junior National Championships.


GUIDELINES FOR PARENTS 

Tennis Alberta has prepared a set of guidelines for parents of recreational and competitive junior players to support a positive player environment. This document supplements the Code of Conduct.


2022-23 INDOOR COMPETITION SCHEDULE 

The schedule includes Adult tournaments, and Junior National, Provincial Pathway, and Club Pathway tournaments. Additional events, including Seniors and U9/U10 Circuit, will be added soon. Updates to the tournament schedule will be sent by email and posted on tennisalberta.com. 

Tournament registration opens approximately one month prior to the tournament. Players can register at tennisalberta.com/tournaments.
