As we move toward the end of 2025, it’s inspiring to reflect on the reach and impact of our programming across the province. This year, our staff, coaches, partner organizations, and community leaders have played essential roles in delivering accessible, inclusive, and engaging tennis experiences to Albertans. With thousands of program engagements across grassroots and community initiatives, the momentum behind tennis in Alberta continues to grow. Through Try Tennis events, Learn & Play programs, National Bank Family Tennis Days, and our Road Show, we introduced thousands of youth and adults to the sport in 2025.

Try Tennis, in particular, shines as one of our most impactful entry points. This program helps build inclusive tennis communities, foster positive early experiences, and encourages participants to continue playing after their first session. In 2025, hundreds of players took part in Try Tennis events, reinforcing the importance of this program in growing the game.

Our Tennis for Schools initiative brought tennis to gymnasiums across the province, introducing the sport to over 1000 students. School partnerships continue to be one of the most effective pathways for engaging youth, playing a key role in building early interest in tennis and creating an avenue for lifelong participation.

We worked to expand opportunities for girls and women in tennis, with over 100 participants taking part in female-focused programs and leadership experiences. These initiatives support safe, empowering, and welcoming environments for girls to start and stay engaged in sport.

Wheelchair Tennis programming also evolved this year, supported by emerging partnerships with local and provincial Parasport organizations. These collaborations set the stage for more accessible participation opportunities in the years ahead.

As we look ahead to 2026, we’re applying what we learned this year, including the value of strong partnerships and early engagement, to guide our next steps. We plan to expand key programs, reach more rural communities across Alberta, and continue exploring new ways to enhance accessibility and participation. Thank you to our staff, coaches, volunteers, clubs, and community partners for your dedication and collaboration throughout 2025. The momentum reflected in our program data is a direct result of your hard work, and it represents the growing energy and connection that tennis brings to our communities.

Here’s to a strong finish to 2025 and an exciting year ahead in 2026!
