Introducing Tennis Connects Alberta: our 2026–2030 Strategic Plan
April 09, 2026
Tennis Alberta is proud to announce the launch of Tennis Connects Alberta, a comprehensive five-year strategic plan to define out identity and our goals through 2030.
The result of an extensive and collaborative development process, the plan is shaped by our stakeholders, grounded in data, and driven by transformative goals and the operational activities required to achieve them. It reflects the collective voices of our members, facilities, coaches, partners, and team across the province.
“I’m proud to introduce our five-year strategic plan, a roadmap designed to strengthen and grow our tennis community across the province. Central to this vision is Tennis Connects Alberta, our commitment to bringing people together through the sport and creating meaningful connections in every community. This plan reflects the voices of our players, coaches, clubs, and partners, and sets a clear path for increased participation, accessibility, and excellence. I look forward to working together with all of you to bring this vision to life over the next five years.
– Mike Bennett, President, Tennis Alberta
Who We Are: Mission, Vision, and Values
Tennis Connects Alberta is built on a clarified identity. We have refined our mission, vision, and values to ensure they directly reflect what our community needs and wants from us
Our Mission: To connect, support, and advance Alberta’s tennis community.
Our Vision: A thriving, connected tennis community where everyone in Alberta can be part of the game.
Our Values: Integrity, Collaboration, Respect, and Progress.
Priority Goals
To achieve our vision, Tennis Alberta has established three priority goals. Each goal includes key objectives and a “Game Changer Project.” Our Priority Goals are:

Build Our Capacity
Expanding infrastructure and coaching for year-round, quality programs.

Connect Our Community
Strengthening the collaboration between players, organizations, and partners province-wide.

Grow Our Game
Increasing participation and retention, focusing on underserved regions.
Putting the Plan into Action
The plan expands on our three priority goals by defining key objectives and clear indicators of success for each. This allows us to track our progress as we work to connect, support, and advance Alberta’s tennis community.
“The Tennis Alberta team is thrilled to share Tennis Connects Alberta, our new Strategic Plan, with our community. After a year of extensive community engagement, data-driven analysis, and collaborative planning sessions, we’ve developed a plan that refreshes our organizational identity, sets ambitious goals, and provides a clear framework to make and evaluate key decisions. We believe this plan will bring our community together to strengthen and grow our sport throughout Alberta.
– Colin Latchford, Executive Director, Tennis Alberta
We wish to thank everyone who participated in our surveys and engagement sessions, as well as The Greater for their work in facilitating the research and planning that made this roadmap possible.
Facility leaders and community members can look forward to engagement sessions with Tennis Alberta leadership throughout the spring and summer to discuss the plan’s implementation.
