Brendan Smith has announced his resignation as Tournament and Programs Coordinator, effective February 15. His tournament expertise and sense of humour will be missed.

Brendan joined Tennis Alberta two years ago moving from the Tennis Canada offices in Toronto where he had gained a wealth of experience in the competitive structure of Canadian tennis – as well as some memorable experiences with tennis celebrities such as: meeting Roger Federer and tutoring Dennis Shapovalov courtside in between his training. Equipped with a Bachelors in Sport Management and what he had learned at the national level Brendan spearheaded Alberta’s Competitive Structure by significantly increasing the number of competitive opportunities for juniors which increased junior tournament participation. Brendan’s skills in assisting Alberta’s tennis clubs navigate tournament planning were well known across our community.

We’re sorry to lose Brendan’s skill and integrity. Baseball Alberta is getting a talented sport manager. The board of directors and staff wish every success in his new endeavours.

Tennis Alberta will be looking to fill the position shortly.
