On October 18, Tennis Canada and the Alberta Tennis Centre proudly hosted a Women in Coaching event at the Carriage House Inn during the Calgary Challenger. With 32 attendees, this event marked the largest gathering of female coaches at a Women in Coaching event in Canada this year. Coaches from across Alberta joined for a day of connection, insight, and inspiration to drive women’s leadership in tennis.
The event was led by Marie-France, Tennis Canada’s Director of Training and Coach Services, who brought infectious energy and expertise to the room. Special guest speakers Suzana Cavalcante, Head of Junior Tennis Development at ATC, and Eva Havaris, Tennis Canada’s VP of Tennis Participation and Partnership, shared their experiences and expertise. Their sessions encouraged discussions and provided participants with new strategies and perspectives to strengthen coaching across the province.
The atmosphere was lively and engaging, and these individuals have laid a strong foundation for the future of women’s coaching leadership in Alberta. This remarkable event not only fostered professional growth but also created lasting connections that will continue to empower Alberta’s female coaching community for years to come.
